Do you have Great Harvest bread stores where you live?
Last night someone brought in a big bag of bread that Great Harvest had donated for the scout Blue and Gold dinner. I like the Great Harvest stuff, but I thought 'how good could it be if they gave it away for free?' I think they were just day-old items. We had too much food, so we just divied up the loaves between the leaders. I took home the pumpkin choc chip, and a kind I had never tried before. Triple Chocolate Raspberry. Oh my goodness, I just toasted some and I might have to run water over it so I stop myself from eating more.
And butter just tastes so much better when it's melted. I know this because my first slice was right from the loaf, with butter. Then I thought that I could make it taste better by toasting it. And the toasting just turned on the flavor of the butter. Yes, I am positive that when St Peter greets you at the gates, there is a lovely little granny-type behind him with a tray full of this stuff.
