I've spent exactly 7 hours and 50 minutes in the month of November and thus far, I can say, it's going pretty well.
The kids each have some winter weather items in their rooms. Some even have duplicates. We all went through the winter and snowboarding gear last night. There is a small-ish list of items that each kid needs replaced. But we can survive the next few weeks until we can (hopefully, but not counting on it) afford to replenish the goods. It was a great feeling to see three humongo bins of hole-y items leaving our house. I wasn't even offended that Nina thumbed her nose at my Sorels that I've had since high school. I def got my money out of them. Say hello to DI (Utahs version of Goodwill), you warm, cozy size 10 Sorels.
The younger 3 have managed to get themselves ready for school, so far. I only had to make their egg-ies. I didn't make them do morning showers because we lazed about yesterday. And I'm even letting GG do her own hair. This is difficult for me, since I know it may well end up as a frizzy mess.
The older kids have a day off of school since their first quarter is all done and wrapped up tight.
Nolan's report card was squeaky clean. No +'s, no -'s, just the same letter all the way down the page. He is so excited, this is the second time in a row for him. So we gave him an iPhone. JUST KIDDING! He bought it off of 'uncle' Jerry who upgraded to the 4th generation. And there's no way in heck we are paying for a data package on the phone, so he'll just pretend its a working phone and use it as an iTouch. I heard that you can buy a pay as you go ATT phone, activate it and then put the SIM card in the iPhone and wha-la you have created a pay-as-you-go iPhone (kinda).
Allison should have the same squeaky clean report card, but the teacher hasn't input some assignments yet. So she says. Hmmmm. We shall see.
Ok, well I am now realizing that the time is 8:01 and I haven't made their lunches yet. Plus, I have flies in the house. This guy told me yesterday that it was from opening my door on Halloween. I just smiled and wished, "if only dude, if only. These flies have been here all month."
I had to give in and do GG's hair for her. Its still frizzy but up in a ponytail kind of frizzy. Looks like my perfect day is already in jeopardy. Doesn't that just make your heart sing? We're already all sorts of messed up and unperfect and unshowered this month.
It is NaBloPoMo. National Blog Posting Month. I read about it on Twitter. You're supposed to post on your blog each day of this month. We'll see how far I can get, ok? This is me apologizing to your Google Reader ahead of time.
