Today we went to our second official, full Sunday, in our new ward. I consider it a success for the following reasons:
- I finally figured out how to access the scripture they are talking about in class with my Kindle. No easy fete. Which makes the Kindle that much more fun to own. A downside would be that the whole time in class I was tempted to finish off this book I am 96% done with. The Kindle measures your percentage read on all the books in your system. I'm reading Craig Ferguson's American On Purpose.
- Only had to introduce myself once today.
- My new friend Emmie gave me a stick of gum
- We live across the street from the church so the kids just walked over when they were ready, and bonus, we were on time :)
- Allison saved a great pew for us
- One lady asked me for some information about me to put on the ladies' BLOG. woot!
The house we just moved into is coming along well. We're getting bids on a fence which will really help Tuggle. Mike and I are sure that he is blind in one eye and deaf too. He's just a barking machine in the yard. We put up some small temp fencing, but a 6 foot one will keep him from getting spooked by all the kids that walk by and anything else that might bother him.
A new fridge and a microwave are next on the list, but we'll get to those when we get to them. We actually have both, but the micro takes up a ton of room on the countertop and the fridge we are using now, is super small and we normally use it as our backup fridge in the garage.
In the next 8 days we have birthday bonanza. Allison turns 14 tomorrow, Marik is 5 Tuesday and next Monday it's Nina's turn, she will be 11. Big fun.
Allison, the typical teenager is pretty unhelpful in telling me details on just what she wants. So far I have gotten "clothes" and "shoes" out of her. I have a few ideas up my sleeve for her though. She requested blueberry muffins for breakfast (it's tradition!), I'm bringing pizzas and soda to school for her to share with her friends and she wants to eat at Five Guys for dinner.
Marik is a whole different story. He wants a good 60% of Toys R Us inventory. Emphasis on the SpiderMan and Batman. If I could get him what I really think he would love, it would be one of those Power Wheels. Dont think that will happen. But since he is the last little kid that we have, I hope I can pull it off before he grows to old for one.
Nina. True to form, Nina has some bizarre wishes. #1 Beef Jerky. Teriyaki flavored. #2 things from Oopsie Daisy boutique. Mind you, this store just opened in Daybreak, it is a BABY boutique. There are a few offerings for the pregnant mother. Im thinking I might get her some jewelry there??? and #3 gift she requested was these squooshy little animal pencil toppers that are in the gumball machines at the mexican joint where I buy my breakfast burrito. This morning I got gift request #4 out of her....she wants an As Seen On TV product. The Touch N Brush. I will probably get her that one for sure. Seeing as how her bathroom was the only bathroom that didn't get torn out/redone and it kind of gives me the heeby jeeby's, some tacky toothpaste dispenser will just add to the bathroom's, uh, charm.
That's what we're gearing up for this week. RIght now I am getting ready to pick up a friend at the airport. She has a long layover so we're taking her to out my parent's for dinner. Her name is Stephanie Meyer. Heard of her?
See you in the comments :)
OK, I'm actually digging the 'Touch 'n Brush'. Although I'll need one for adults and kids.
We are a block from the church and I love that we walk over when time and callings demand. Although today as the kids full on boobed and screamed, as I dragged them home, one in each hand, that half block seemed like forever.

Are you a blog name dropper?! :)
Good luck with all the birthdays. I know how you feel, but at least mine are all in two months, not one week (well I guess half my kids are in the same week:P)
